“Retirement Gift” 2023-2024. Cast Hydrostone with cold wax finish. 12”h x 9”w x ½”d. The original pieces were made to be scaled and cast as bronze bookends. When the original was later requested I explained that oil based clay is not a finished product. I then made latex molds, cast the pieces in hydrostone and finished them with metallic wax and acrylic paint. Bookends and wall plaques are in a private collection in Sweden.
“Madness x60”, 2021. Commission of this very specific imagery as ceramic steins to be used at a party. I made more than 60 in about a month and a half, while moving (thus the madness). Approx 8″ tall with 4″ cup diameter.
“Melt, Mold, Grind”, 2016. A commemorative panel project commemorating the closing of ESCO Foundry Plant #1. The pieces were among the last pieces to be sand cast in stainless steel in the plant. The panels are 4 ft tall. They were sculpted at 18 inches tall, scanned and reproduced with a 3-D router at the final scale. The routed reproductions were used to create the sand cast molds. Final installation and surface treatment has not yet occurred.
“Founder”, 2018. A private commission cast in bronze. The figure is 6 ft tall.
“Julius Jim”, 2010. Commissioned by college faculty as a retirement gift for a beloved Art History professor. Collaborative with John Larsen.
